This is a popular ride along the Isere valley to the North of St.Nazaire which meanders through shady orchards of walnut trees. There are great views of the Vercors and a small village dating back to medieval times is worth a minor detour. At Vinay there's a fantastic lunchstop, followed by an easy route back.

This circuit provides excellent views down the Rhone Valley and over to the Ardeche. At Chabeuil there's an excellent little restaurant and a replica of Tintin's space rocket can be seen on one of the roundabouts. There are a few alternative ways back; this shows the return trip on the main road, which has a superb cycle lane and not much traffic.
