Welcome to Gastrobiking!

It's what we live for

The Gastrobiking way is about riding bikes and eating. Whether it's riding down to your local for a pub lunch or doing a century ride to ease the guilt of eating lots of cakes, everyone can be a Gastrobiker.

Gastrobiking Holidays

Gastrobiking holidays are for ordinary cyclists with a passion for food. After all most of us ride our bikes so that we can sneak into the local bakeries and cafés when our friends and family aren't looking. And when we get home we have a good excuse for having an extra large portion of spaghetti and a second helping of apple crumble and custard.

On a gastrobiking holiday we like to maintain your lifestyle and combine fine cycling with plenty of good food. This can be subject to several interpretations but our preference is that great cycling consists of quiet roads, interesting scenery and not too far to the nearest bakery. Great food is tasty and plentiful. They can be combined in several ways: biking then eating, eating then biking, eating then biking then eating, eating then biking AND eating then eating (for advanced gastrobikers). But what about drinking? Well, as all the best nutritionists advise, you should drink little and often. By the way, should 'drinking' involve alcoholic drinks these should be strictly added to the combination after the biking bit and always in moderation.

Pastry Power

Gastrobiking routes are based around bakeries, cafés and restaurants. France is a great place for Gastrobiking with bakeries in almost every village. They produce the most tempting gateaux and fresh raspberry and strawberry tarts that have been the downfall of many a conscientious cyclist. And there are plenty of excellent restaurants.
