This event was introduced in 2008 and was an immediate success with over 1000 participants. Based from a town called Die this new cyclosportive, with a choice of three circuits, makes an excellent end of season event for a Cycling Holiday from Hell.
With the circuits being to the south of the Vercors it's a great way to discover some of the many scenic roads in the area.
Raphael Poiree who originates from La Chapelle-en-Vercors, was the most successful biathlete before he retired at the end of the 2007 season.

Apart from the Col de Pennes in the 140km circuit, there are no serious climbs by alpine standards although if you live in a flat area you might take issue with that last statement.
However the roads are narrow and twisty making the descents quite technical so reasonable levels of fitness and endurance will help to make the day more enjoyable.
You can either come out for a long weekend or spend the week before or after in the Vercors.
Friday : Ride to Die from St.Nazaire or arrive at Grenoble airport.
Saturday : Do a shortish ride to Chatillon and maybe do the 70km circuit.
Sunday : Ride the event.
Monday : Return to St.Nazaire and/or transfer to Grenoble airport.
Three nights dinner, bed and breakfast and entry to the event.
Transfers will be return from Grenoble airport and Valence TGV.
